Group therapy is very loosely defined as having more than one client treated at the same time by at least one therapist. The size of the group can vary depending on the purpose and type of group therapy being employed.
Group coaching is similar. In the sense that there is more than one client and one or more coaches. The size is variable.
So what’s the difference between the two?
Very broadly speaking, coaching is more focused on helping you achieve your future goals, while therapy tends to have more of a past and present focus. The focus in therapy is more on healing from the past, while the focus in coaching is more on getting you to where you wish to be next.
